Tokelau Language - Malo Ni

Here are some of the greetings near the entrance to our school. Can you see the Tokelau greeting?
Next week is Tokelau Language Week, but Puriri have decided to start celebrating it this week along with their Pacific neighbours, Niue.
Have fun trying some of these activities and share any work you do with me.
Remember your learning goal each day is to make sure you are doing the three main school tasks:
Reading, Writing & Maths.
There are some reading activities you could do on this slide.

  1. Manuia te taeao. Wow Room 16. I was so impressed to learn about the two reneable power supplies in Tokelau. Very ingenious. Sounds like a very forward set of Atols. What other things can you discover about our neighbour? Look forward to hearing what you discover!

  2. Fakaalofa lahi atu Room 16, you have some exciting learning to work on!  For Niue Language Week, I have been practising the numbers 1-10: 1 = taha, 2 = ua, 3 = tolu, 4 = fa, 5 = lima, 6 = ono, 7 = fitu, 8 = valu, 9 = hiva, 10 = hogofulu. I have found that saying them out loud has made it easier to learn them.
    Enjoy your learning about Tokelau!
