Athletics Day

We had a great day this week at The Owairaka Athletics Club for our school Athletics Day. We had shown Manawanuitanga (persistence and resilience) when learning and practicing each of the events. On the day it was great to see everyone giving everything a really good shot and having fun. Here are just a few photos from the day. A big thank you to the parents who came along to support the children and also the teachers running events. Kia ora!

Calendar Art - ready to order

Each year we work hard to produce some cool art work which can be made into a variety of different items. You can choose to have your artwork made into a calendar for 2023, a diary for 2023, or a 10-pack of greeting cards with your artwork printed on the front. Very cool!

These could make great Christmas presents to give to friends and family. It is also a super fundraiser for our school, so please consider helping out. Thank you!

Look out for the order form you can see in the photos below to order the products you would like. You can see a sneak peak of our artwork below, but if you would like a closer look at your particular piece, pop in and see us in Room 16. Kia ora!

Our cool artwork.

Look out for this order form.

Owairaka Art Exhibition!

This week we are very proud to present the 'Owairaka Art Exhibition' for 2022!

We have worked hard all term studying artists and creating our own artworks to be proud of. The school hall will be transformed into our very own art gallery displaying artworks from everyone in the school. Each class has also worked together to create a collaborative piece of  art to display.

Come along to the school hall all day Wednesday (7am - 7pm) or on Thursday (7am - 11.30am) to see all the fabulous artworks. There will be a sausage sizzle, raffles and fundraisers happening too.

Here is a 'sneak peek' of some of our artwork. See you there!

Garden to Table - in the kitchen

Here are some pictures of us in the kitchen at Garden to Table. Each Wednesday this term, we take turns to work in the garden or in the kitchen. We all help to prepare a meal with food the gardeners have harvested, and then we all share the delicious meal we have made. Whanau are always welcome to come along and help. Then you could share the meal with us too!

Garden To Table - in the garden

Every Wednesday this term we have Garden To Table. It is a great learning opportunity for us. We learn how to plant, grow and harvest vegetables from our garden, then prepare and cook them in the kitchen, and finally we get to eat it! It is one of our favourite times of the week and a great chance to work together as a team. We are always keen to have family volunteers come in to help in the kitchen or garden. If you can help on any Wednesday, please see Andy or send a message in to school. Thank you!
