Malachi's home learning

Malachi has been doing lots of learning while at home. He has been doing maths questions, baking scones and also made a special 'code'. If you click on the link below you can see Malachi's code and use it to solve the puzzle. It's definitely worth a try. Thanks for sharing Malachi!

Malachi's code - solve it if you can!

Lyla's cheetah learning

Have a look at some cool learning about cheetahs that Lyla did at home. First she decided on some information she wanted to find out about cheetahs, then researched to find answers to her questions.
Great work Lyla!

Continuing learning at home

To help continue learning at home keep checking this blog.
Each week there will be a new grid of activities to choose from. They are designed to be achievable, enjoyable and a chance to connect with those around us. Please try to share some of your learning with me, or ask any questions, at afaulder@owairaka.school.nz.

If you would prefer a paper copy of the at home activities, they will be available at school in the McGrarry room next to the office on March 24th from 12.00pm.

Check this blog again for updates about websites we have been using in class that you may be able to access at home. If you need a username or password please email me afaulder@owairaka.school.nz.

To continue learning at home just try to make sure you do some reading, some writing and some maths every weekday. Try to make it fun and enjoyable - the way learning should be.
I look forward to you sharing your learning and to seeing you again soon.
Take care, Andy.

Seaweek Learning

We really enjoyed 'New Zealand Seaweek'.
We learned a lot of interesting facts and were motivated to protect our precious oceans and the amazing creatures that live there.
We had a special visitor, Riley Hathaway, from Young Ocean Explorers. She spoke to us about Auckland's incredible Hauraki Gulf and other cool ocean experiences.
We have been enjoying exploring the website https://www.youngoceanexplorers.com/ Check it out.
We learned how important it is to make sure that 'only rain goes down the drain'. We also had a special 'green / blue' day when we all dressed in blue or green.
 "1, 2, 3, let's save our seas!"

Lyla was motivated to pick up plastics and rubbish that might otherwise have ended up in the ocean.
Great kaitiakitanga!
