Kaitiakitanga
One of our school values is 'Kaitiakitanga'. This means that we are guardians of the environment. We try to care for living creatures and this week Tamsin saved a bird that she found in our classroom. The bird seemed exhausted and hurt and, at first, it would not fly off. It was a magical moment when it flew free. Great Kaitiakitanga!

This reminds me of a time when a bird flew into our school hall, it would fly into the windows trying to escape. After a little coaxing, it finally flew out the hall door. ReplyDeleteI love animals and think that you are a very good guardian of the environment.That bird reminds me of a bird my cat chased into my house. It was very tired and scared.Me and my family helped the poor bird. After a little while my Dad set it free in a park and my mum brought my cat a collar with a bell. Your act was inspiring.
