We are a very lucky school! One of our parents won the school a prize - a big van arrived with 10 super fun wooden games for us all to try. We visited the hall with our buddy class and it was fun! Each game presented different challenges and it was great to see the teamwork involved to be successful with them. It was also fantastic to see the Room 16 'big buddies' helping their younger, Year 1 Owairaka buddies.
We really enjoyed seeing all the artworks on our trip to the Auckland Art Gallery. They really got us thinking and inspired! We also loved getting busy and actually being artists at the gallery. We drew and sketched our thoughts and ideas based on artworks we saw there. We also spent time in a real art studio creating sculptures. We have been using what we learned back at school so check the blog again soon to see some of our artistic creations for the Owairaka Art Exhibition coming up at the end of term.
To support our Visual Arts focus this term, we were lucky enough to take a fantastic trip to the Auckland Art Gallery. It was very exciting catching a bus into the city and visiting the amazing gallery. The building is a piece of art as well! We thought about the artworks we saw and did some artworks of our own.
