Swimming lessons

This week we have been lucky to have swimming coaches teaching us swimming lessons and water safety skills. It has been great fun! For our final lesson we learned about wearing life jackets for safety. Learning to swim and stay safe in the water is really important so please remember your togs and towel on swimming days. Our class swimming days next week are Wednesday and Friday.

Linking to our school theme 'In Our Backyard' Room 16 are currently part of the '21 Day Challenge' which aims to raise awareness about our local harbour, the Hauraki Gulf, and to make a difference to pollution in the Gulf by picking up at least 1 piece of plastic each for 21 days.

There are loads of schools taking part so go to the site to see how much plastic has been collected each day. Try to play your part and make a difference by picking up any plastic you see that could otherwise get washed into our oceans.
