Problem solving🤓

We do some really challenging maths problem solving in room sixteen. It's a great way to work together to solve tricky maths problems. Today we learned how to share equally using fractions. See if you can explain how we solved this problem to someone at home!

Life Education

It has been great having Harold the giraffe and his special 'classroom truck' at school lately. We loved visiting his cool classroom! Harold and Michelle taught us about how we are all special, unique and 'one-of-a-kind'. We talked about how our personality is made up and how we all have different personalities. We learned how we can all make good choices to be "the best me I can be".

Mathematics outdoors

Recently in mathematics we learned about AREA and PERIMETER.
We learned that the perimeter is the distance all the way around a shape.
We learned that the area is the total space inside a shape.
We went outside with meter rulers to draw and measure some shapes.
We measured the area and perimeter of each shape.

ANZAC parade

We were lucky to have a grandparent, Charles, visit our class to talk about ANZAC Day. He brought in some special things for us to look at, including a sword from World War 1. We visited our school memorial and held a mini ANZAC parade. We even got to hold the sword! Lest we forget.
